“The earth is always been a mystery and will remain a mystery. We travelers will keep yearning to know more but never know it completely.”
The ancient scripts say that there are 4 yugas Satya yuga, tetra yuga, dwapara yuga and Kali yuga
Satya Yuga– The golden period (the dharma bull had 4 legs)) where only good prevailed, people were happy and well yes the average life span of human was 1,00,000 years. Avatars of Vishnu – matsya, kurma, varaha and narasimha .
Tetra yuga – The yuga with three legs. Where life is 3 quarter virtue and 1 quarter evil. The average life span of humans was 10,000 years. People were happy even though little evil prevailed. The avatars of Vishnu reduced to 3 with vamana, parsurama and Ramachandra.
Dwapara yuga– The yuga of 2 legs where the life was 2 quarter virtue and 2 quarter evil. The average life span was 1000 years. The avatars of vishnu reduced to 2 Krishna and Balarama.
Kali yuga – the age of kalee, the yuga with 1 leg where 3 quarter evil with 1 quarter virtue prevailed. The average life span is 100 years and Kaliki is the only avatar of Vishnu.
Once the 4 yugas (1 day for Lord Bramha) are over life starts again with satya yuga.
Is the logic of yuga correct, or our understanding in wrong. I agree with ancient texts and am a person who gets offended by questioning it, but my heart knows I have questions about the classification of yugas.
If satya yuga was 4 quarter virtue then why did Vishnu take two avatars to kill hirankshya or hiranyakashpu, why did evil exits in their forms?
Tetra yuga had 3 quarter virtue then why did parsurama went into a fighting spree or why did rama had to fight.
Dvapara yuga both good and evil prevailed but when evil is more we need god the most, then why only 2 avatars. And finally Kalki for which there is some explanation but nothing concrete.
So pundits say we are in the kali yuga, yeah of course the average life span in less than 100 years which may probably mean we are in the middle of kali yuga. Then we also have 10,000 years of golden age in Kaliyuga then why do we have so many things that is not golden, why do people kill each other why do they fight, why our tolerance level is low so does that mean its kali yuga?
But then we have people trying to connect to god more than before. Does just believing in god make us do good deeds? Then what about the so called sages who perform yagna’s more for money and less for its actual purpose.
So which Yuga am I in?
